She has done an excellent job these past 5 years, and the last thing we need right now, with our county struggling to regain revenue, is someone who places politics over statesmenship, and that someone isn't Mrs. Jaycox.

Signwave Successful

The Schoharie County Young Republican Club held a successful signwave for County Clerk Indy Jaycox. The event took place over an hour near Wilson Travel. After the signwave, hundreds of palmcards were distributed in Cobleskill.

The Club held a meeting afterward and discussed its future. It is likely going to hold another event for the County Clerk before the November 8th election.

Usually these Young Republican Update posts are to give everyone heads up on upcoming SCYR events and news, but not this time.

Our county was attacked by the force of nature last weekend, and entire communities have been destroyed. Our neighbors homes were washed away; their businesses; cattle; farms, possessions, etc. etc. etc. etc.

Several of our members have volunteered and worked their ass off trying to get our county back to shape, and the Young Republicans are proud of them - as we are for every person, regardless of party, who has been involved - and we would like to call on every available individual to help in any possible way.

We are still scheduled to meet on September 19th, but that takes a backseat to fixing our community first.

Young Republicans!

We have had some difficulties in holding a Young Republicans meeting this month because of scheduling conflicts by our leadership, but we have come together and are currently working to find a day in July we definitely will hold a meeting.

The SCYR's learned today that the former Conservative Party candidate for County Clerk will be running once again this year on the Democratic line. We are absolutely devoted to Mrs. Jaycox's campaign for four more years, and hope the voters will not be deceived by another Conservative-Democrat coalition this year.

And, just as a reminder, today is Flag Day - please respect our country's flag and those who have died for it.

We have two bits of news to share

1. The Schoharie County Young Republicans have officially endorsed Giovanni Scaringi for the NYSYR Chair. He is running to replace Chairman Lynn Krogh, who decided against a second term.

2. The Schoharie County Young Republicans were founded on this day exactly two years ago. We havn't grown much, but we have worked hard to elect Republican candidates running for all levels of government.

The next SCYR meeting is on June 7th, 6PM at the Middleburgh Town Hall - hope to see you all there.

We have some exciting news for everyone: the Schoharie County Young Republicans are moving towards complete membership with the New York State Young Republicans Association! Which means we'll have a seat at the table when the statewide organization elects their officers in June, campaigns this fall, etc. etc.

In more local news: the Schoharie County GOP's Lincoln Dinner will be held on April 5th - the day before the Young Republican's next meeting - at the Holiday Inn in Schoharie.

The Schoharie County Young Republicans are ready for the New Year ahead. With sixteen Town Supervisor seats up for election in November, along with two County offices (Clerk & Treasurer), the Young Republicans are gearing up for our largest election year campaign activities yet!

Our long road to November will begin on January 13th, 6PM, at the Wilson Travel Agency office in Cobleskill, New York (across the street from Burger King), with Chairman Lewis Wilson as our guest speaker for the evening. We will also be holding our annual election, resolutions, straw polls galore, and finally select a official SCYR logo.

All Conservatives & Republicans are invited.

Is Young Republican Chairman Timothy Knight upset with the 2010 election results? Nope.

Mr.Knight is actually quite pleased with what his local Club accomplished, especially in regards to the candidacy of Ted Danz. "Mr.Danz took a County that Paul Tonko won by several hundred votes in 2008, and switched into the GOP column for the first time in the history of the current 21st congressional district boundaries. We were a big reason for it".

With several signwaves held across the County, local GOTV efforts, and postitive media reports - Ted Danz received media attention and ground support that past candidates in Schoharie County lacked. Chairman Knight is quite proud of that record. "Why shouldn't Young Republicans be proud with at least an moral victory? Not to mention Assemblyman Lopez, Senator Seward, and other local Republicans were elected with relative ease".

The Young Republicans next meeting will be held on Friday, December 1oth, 6PM - at the Schoharie County Board of Supervisors meeting room.

The Schoharie County Young Republicans Club will be joining forces with the Ted Danz campaign on Saturday morning to hold one last "sign wave" along route seven, in front of Price Chopper. All Danz supporters are invited to help out (we're meeting at 10:45 in the Price Chopper parking lot), and this will be the last Danz for Congress event of the 2010 campaign.

I am writing this letter to ask that everyone who lives within New York's 21st Congressional district, and supports the candidacy of Republican Ted Danz, help Mr.Danz's campaign in anyway possible. Whether it be through a $50 contribution to his campaign - a campaign that has 99 percent less money on hand than the incumbent Congressman, or through campaigning with the Young Republicans on Friday afternoon in Middleburgh, or through placing yardsigns in various places across the district, or through standing with "Danz for Congress" signs in and around the district.

On Friday the Young Republican Chairman Timothy Knight assisted the local County GOP and the Ted Danz campaign in an "endorsement/press conference" at the County courthouse. And this morning the Young Republicans participated in the Harvest Day Parade in Middleburgh.

It's only the beginning.

Our next meeting/pre-election meeting is on October 22nd, 6PM at the Middleburgh Town Hall, and earlier in the day the Young Republicans will be holding a "mini-blitz" in support of the Danz campaign. Other events will also be taking place as well: Assemblyman Lopez will need a small crew of people to assist in stuffing envelopes for a mailer later this week, and the big GOP blitz will be on the weekend of the election. Please stay tuned for other events.

Ted Danz Speaks to the Young Republicans

Congressional candidate for the NY-21 district Ted Danz spoke to the Schoharie County Young Republicans on Monday, September 20. The Young Republicans recently took part in a sign wave for Mr. Danz on Saturday, September 18 in Cobleskill.

Mr. Danz hails from Guilderland and is a successful entrepreneur. He is a veteran of the US Navy and is married with five children.

Mr. Danz told members of the club that "We've got to turn this economy around" and that "I would spend $117 million if we got big industry to come in from another country."

As far as the government was concerned, Mr. Danz was emphatic: "Every time the government gets involved with something it gets screwed up." and that "We've got people making deals that aren't dealmakers. We have politicians making deals with big business and big business is eating them alive."

Chairman Timothy Knight of Richmondville was firm in his commitment to the Danz campaign. "I want him to win Schoharie County," he said, "Tonko only won it by 400 votes." Knight plans to put up signs for Mr. Danz around the County.

Election day is Tuesday, November 2nd.

New Parliamentary Bills in Place

On September 20 the SC Young Republicans voted on a full set of Parliamentary Rules:

Parliamentary Rules--

Any member may make a motion, including associate and honorary members.

Chair has discretion to call for debate or wait for a second of that motion.

If there is a second, there will be a debate with all speakers requiring recognition from the Chair or Vice Chair to speak. All engagements must be respectful and less than five minutes per statement. Written and proxy statements are allowed.

The Chair has the ability to disallow floor privileges.

Members may ask for “Point of Inquiry” which would be a question about the resolution or a “Point of Personal Privilege” regarding noise or having to leave the room or a “Point of Order” which would be used as a way to counter violations of Parliamentary Rules or the SCYR Charter. Members may also ask for time extension, to the discretion of the Chair.

The Chair will entertain all motions for amendments or retractions, which will follow steps 2-5. This could include a motion to withdraw the resolution.

Chair will call a vote on all amendments or retractions. Those with a majority vote of all voting present members (absolute majority not needed here) will be added to the original motion.

Chair or Vice Chair may call for cloture. Upon an absolute majority vote of those present, debate may cease and a vote take place on the final motion.

In accordance with the SCYR Charter motions will be passed by the threshold requirements of the different sections. Endorsements require voting, not absolute majority.

Good afternoon Young Republicans,

The Young Republicans and the Ted Danz campaign will be holding a "sign wave" in downtown Cobleskill this Saturday between the times of noon and three, I was wondering if y'all might be interested in helping the Danz campaign for a few minutes (30 or so). Mr.Danz will also be the Young Republicans guest speaker during our upcoming meeting on Monday night, which will begin at 7PM (and last to 9), and is being held at the Board of Supervisors meeting room (third floor).

Our Club will be endorsing the entire GOP slate on Monday night (one candidate at a time), enacting our long awaited Parliamentary rules (with some draft resolutions, of course) and discussing the upcoming campaign at length. We're hopeful to have a couple of new members, and I would appreciate it if everyone sent this email to fellow Young Conservatives/Republicans who are interested in politics, and might become members.

Just some news for everyone:

Our next meeting has officially been set for Monday, September 20th, 6PM at the Schoharie County Board of Supervisor's meeting room (on the third floor).
Ted Danz has officially been booked as our Guest Speaker at our upcoming meeting, Mr.Danz will be there to receive the endorsement of the SCYR'S, and to speak to our organization as well.
The Young Republicans manned the SCGOP booth at the Sunshine Fair earlier this morning and afternoon, where we met dozens of individuals who are definitely looking forward to November.

Also, I (the Chairman) do apologize for the post that I published yesterday morning about our meeting on Wednesday night. The entire Club was frustrated to no-end, as a series of mishaps and disappointments (due to lack of new members) ruined our August meeting. But we have regrouped, and we'll be working twice as hard as we did in July and August for September's YR meeting.

The Schoharie County Young Republicans should become an officially recognized New York Young Republican Club by mid-August, when the Statewide organization holds their annual Summer meeting in Troy, Chairman Knight will be attending.

For those who are unaware: The Schoharie County Young Republicans officially received a Letter of Authorization from Schoharie County GOP Chairman Lewis Wilson two weeks ago; as such we're on the right path for the next New York State Young Republican meeting. Why?

Well, not only does joining the New York State Young Republican Club strengthen our local Club, help our local candidates with $150 dollars in campaigns, but it allows for our little local club to have a statewide impact within the Republican Party. We might be a small club of just nine members; but we can make a difference.

The Schoharie County Young Republicans will be holding a special election to replace Rob Panico as their former Secretary of the Club, and a native of Richmondville; Shane Serrapica is the lone candidate for the job.

Chairman Tim Knight has been advertising the special election for a while, and it came down to asking Serrapica if he would run, "Shane agreed to help out the Club, even though he wont be present on a regular basis, he just wanted to help out", and it doesn't appear that another Young Republican will challenge Serrapica come April 12.

"All Young Republicans are welcomed to run, the nominating papers will be open to all until the voting starts a little after 6PM on April 12" said Chairman Knight, adding "This isn't a "Young Republican regime" where all of those who I want are in, but this a small club where we need important positions filled with respectable individuals".

Schoharie County Young Republican Club charter

Article I - Objectives

§1. The Objectives of the Club shall be:

A. To develop and maintain a county-wide Young Republican organization in Schoharie County.

B. To bring young people into the Republican, Conservative, and Independent Parties, to provide an opportunity to them for political expression and recognition, to train them as political workers and to provide a practical means by which they may contribute in the development and betterment of the Republican Party as a service to the United States of America, the State of New York, and Schoharie County.

C. To assist the people of our region by participating in and raising money for local charities.

D. To support the principles, objectives and platform of the Republican and Conservative Parties and to work for the election of Republican and Conservative Party candidates.

Article II - Membership

§1. There shall be three (3) classes of membership in the Club.

A. Active Membership: Any interested individual who is not more than fifty (50) years of age and is a resident, student, or worker within Schoharie County is eligible for active membership in the Club.

B. Associate Membership Any interested individual, regardless of age or location is eligible for associate membership in the Club.

C. Honorary Membership: Honorary members shall be those people, designated for honorary membership by three-fourths of those members present at any regular meeting of the Club. There are no residence or age limitations for this category of membership.

§2. Dues. Annual dues for active members and associate members shall be $5 for a single membership and $10 for couples. Dues may be raised or lowered by a two-thirds vote of the Executive Board upon the recommendation of the Finance Committee.

§3. New Members. Any person who applies for active or associate membership shall be considered a member of the Club upon the close of the second meeting at which said member is present and the joining of at least one committee of the Club. All new members must be accepted by a majority vote by the active membership.

§4 Good Standing. A member or associate member is in “good standing” when he or she is a member of at least one committee and who has no dues outstanding.

§5. Expulsion. The membership may submit a petition containing the signatures of two-thirds of the members stating that a member has committed an act or conduct deemed unfriendly or hostile to the best interests of the Club. The Executive Board must then review the matter. That member shall then be notified of the recommendation of the Executive Board at least one (1) week prior to the next meeting and shall have the right to appear in person or by a representative. Notice of the charges against the member and the recommendation of the Executive Board must be included in the call of the meeting, and must be received by the membership at least seventy-two (72) hours prior to the beginning of the next meeting. At this meeting the member may then be expelled upon a three-fourths vote of those members present.

§6. Rights and Privileges.

A. All members and associate members must serve on at least one committee of their choice, except as provided in Article VIII, §1(A). Only active members may chair the standing committees of the Club.

B. All members shall have the right to vote. Associate and honorary members may vote only on certain proposals with the acquiescence of at least one-half of the active membership.

Article III - Officers

§1. Number and Term. The officers of this Club shall be Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Treasurer, Party Secretary, Chief Recruiter and Strategist. All officers shall hold office from the January meeting in which they were elected until their duly elected successors take office. Officers shall serve without compensation and must be active members of the Club.

§2. Vacancies.

A. A vacancy in the office of Chairman shall be filled by the Vice-Chairman.

B. All other vacancies shall be filled by the appointment of the Chairman and Vice-Chairman unanimously or subject to ratification by two-thirds of the membership.

C. In the case that an officer without a replacement is absent, an office pro-tempore shall be elected in his or her stead for one meeting by a majority of the membership.

§3. Powers and Duties.

A. Chairman.

1. The Chairman shall preside at all meetings of the Club and the Executive Board unless excused.

2. The Chairman shall recognize members who are entitled to the floor.

3. The Chairman shall expedite business in every way compatible with the rights of members.

4. The Chairman shall appoint a Special Advisor, subject to majority approval, within 60 days of taking office.

5. The Chairman shall supervise the activities of the Club, and perform all other duties incidental to his or her office.

6. The Chairman shall have the authority to introduce matters for the consideration of the Board.

D. Vice-Chairman. In the Chairman’s absence the Vice-Chairman shall perform the duties of the Chairman.

1. The Vice Chairman shall appoint the chairpersons and vice-chairpersons of the standing committees, except where noted otherwise, pursuant to Article VIII, §3, within 30 days of taking office.

2. The Vice Chairman shall enforce and follow the rules relating to debate, order and decorum within the assembly.

3. The Vice-Chairman shall also have the authority to introduce matters for the consideration of the Board.

E. Treasurer.

1. The Treasurer shall collect and pay out all Club funds as directed by the Executive Board.

2. The Treasurer shall deposit such funds in a depository designated by the Executive Board and shall keep accounts thereof open at all times to inspection by the members.

3. The Treasurer shall render accounts of his or her transactions and of the financial condition of the Club at each regular meeting and shall submit an annual written report at the beginning of the January meeting.

4. All financial records shall be maintained by the Treasurer.

5. The Treasurer shall perform such duties as assigned by the Executive Board.

6. The Treasurer shall automatically serve as Chairman of the Finance Committee, pending the Executive Board doesn't appoint and approve another Individual.

D. Party Secretary.

1. The Secretary shall be responsible for taking the minutes of all Club meetings and meetings of the Executive Board and shall submit a copy of the minutes to the Board at/or before the beginning of the next meeting.

2. The Secretary shall keep the roll of the members, associate members and honorary members of the Club. A copy of the membership list must be distributed to the Officers of the Club in January, June and October.

E. Chief Recruiter.

1. The Chief Recruiter shall chair the Recruiting Committee, consisting of this officer, the Treasurer and Vice-Chairman.

2. The Chief Recruiter will attempt to gain new members for the Club.

F. Strategist.

1. The Strategist shall assist the Secretary in his or her duties at the request of the Secretary.

2. The Strategist shall be the Vice-Chair of the Publicity and Community Relations Committee.

3. The Strategist will work with the Executive Board on strategies to help candidates and fundraisers.

4. They will assist the Chief Recruiter in planning to gain members.

G. Public Relations.

1. In addition to the officers of the Executive Board, one of these members or any other active member may also be the head of Public Relations, as voted by the majority of active or associate members.

2. The Public Relations head will be responsible to correspond with the Chairmen of the Republican and Conservative Parties in the County or States, in addition to contacting other regarding the Club.

3. The PR head shall be responsible for the mailing of all announcements and/or notices, and the handling of all other secretarial work as assigned by the Chairman or Executive Board.

4. The head of Public Relations shall be the Chair of the Publicity and Community Relations Committee.

5. If the PR head is not in another position on the Executive Board, they may be member of the Executive Board. If the member is in another position of the Board, they only get one vote on the Board.

6. Public relations also may invite guests with affirmation of the Chair or Vice Chair.

§4. Impeachment Procedures

A. Any officer can be censured or impeached if found to be incompetent, failing to perform his or her duties or engaging in activities detrimental to the Club.

B. Proceedings must be initiated by the Executive Board or two-thirds of all Club members.

C. The findings will be investigated by the Executive Board, minus the accused.

D. If charges are brought, then two-thirds of the Executive Board followed by a majority of the total membership must vote to impeach and remove officers.

§5 Termination of the Entire Slate of Officers: Any member of the Executive Board may call for a vote of “no confidence” in the officers. Two-thirds of all Board members plus two-thirds of the Club can then terminate all of the current officers and call for an immediate election by voting “no confidence.” Upon the termination of the officers a new election shall take place within 30 days of the dissolution. The election shall be supervised by the Special Advisor and two other members of the Club selected by the Board and who are not intending to seek office. At the instant of the completion of this special election the entire old Board will be considered dissolved and all appointments are null and void.

§6 Oath: After elections all officials shall be sworn in with an oath subject to a majority of membership.

I promise to uphold the Charter of the Schoharie County Young Republicans, the Constitution of New York state, and the Constitution of the United States of America.

I will pursue the best interests of the Club.

Article IV - Executive Board

§1. Duties. The Executive Board shall consist of the officers of the and the holders of the advisory positions. The Executive Board shall be responsible for the management of all Club activities subject to the approval of the membership.

§2. Meetings. Executive Board meetings shall be held at such times and places as the Chairman or Vice-Chairman shall decide, and each Board member shall receive at least seven (7) days notice from the Chairman.

§3. Attendance. Any member of the Executive Board who misses three (3) meetings of the Board, and does not show due cause within a period of fifteen (15) days from the third meeting shall be considered to have begun impeachment proceedings.

§4. The Executive Board shall have the authority to introduce matters for the consideration of the Club.

§5. Any person with more than one position on the Executive Board shall still only have one (1) vote on the Executive Board.

§6. The Club is authorized to develop a proxy form and rules for proxy acceptance which will allow members of the Executive Board to cast their vote by proxy at meetings of the Executive Board.

Article V - Advisory Positions

§1. Qualifications. The Advisory positions can be held by a member or an associate member. An Honorary member may serve as General Counsel or as the Special Advisor to the Chairman, but will then not have a vote on the Executive Board.

§2. Club Advisor.

A. The Club Advisor shall be the legal counsel of the Club and shall be responsible for giving the Executive Board and its members legal advice pertaining to Club business. The Special Advisor shall be vested with offering of resolving disputes involving the Club.

B. All opinions are advisory only and the membership is the final judge of the propriety of its actions.

C. No person shall hold the position of General Counsel unless he or she is approved by two-thirds of the Executive Board or a majority of the membership.

E. The Club Advisor can only be removed by a two-thirds majority of the Executive Board and the majority of the membership.

§3. Advisor to the Chairman. The Advisor shall be an advisor to the Chairman. He or she shall only report to the Chairman and serves at the Chairman’s pleasure.

Article VI - Meetings

§1. Regular. Regular meetings shall be called by the Chairman or two-thirds of the Executive Board of the Club. They shall be held at least six (6) times per year. Meetings must be held in the months of October and January. Notice shall be sent to the members by acceptable means of communication at least five days prior to the meeting.

§2. Special Meetings. Special meetings of the Club shall be called by the Chairman upon receiving a petition of at least ten (10) members or two-thirds of the Club. Said petition shall state the purpose of this special meeting and the requested date of said meeting. The Chairman must call said meeting within a week of the date designated in the petition.

§3. Quorum. A quorum shall consist of one third of the membership and either the Chairman or Vice Chair.

§4. Exception. If the Chair and Vice-Chair are absent, no binding resolutions may be passed.

Article VIII- Elections

§1. The election of officers of the Club shall be held at the January meeting one year after the prior election. The newly-elected officers shall take office at the conclusion of said meeting.

A. Any member interested in running for an office must submit a one page (8 ½ x 11) document listing his or her qualifications for the office being sought and why he or she should be elected to that position, ready for the election meeting.

B. Copies of the document prepared in subsection A of this section, supra, will be available to all members. This shall be the only campaign material which will be sent to the members of the club on behalf of any candidate.

C. Any member found by the Executive Board to have violated ethics will have their names removed from the ballot and cannot hold office for a period of two (2) years.

D. In a special election to fill a vacancy, the Executive Board shall set the rules and procedures for said election which will incorporate the rules provided for in subsections A through C, supra, into the time-frame for the special.

§2. Voting. Voting in all contested races shall be by secret ballot if asked for by one-third of the membership. No proxies shall be allowed. Fifty percent plus one of the votes cast shall constitute a majority for that office. If a majority is not obtained on the first ballot, the two (2) candidates receiving the most votes will be the candidates in a run-off election.

§3. The Chairman may suggest two tellers who are not running in a given election, who must be approved by two-thirds of the membership who shall dispense, collect and tabulate the vote.

Article VIII- Committees

§1. Standing Committees. The Standing Committees and their function are as follows:

A. Finance: The Finance Committee is charged with examining the books of the Club and in making sure the Club is solvent. The Finance Committee shall run any fund raising venture of the Club and shall be responsible for monitoring any trust or scholarship funds held by the Club or any of its subsidiaries.

B. Membership: The Membership Committee is charged with seeking new members for the Club, acting as a liaison with established Young Republican Groups, and assisting in the establishment of new Young Republican Groups. The Vice-Chairman is vice-chair of this committee.

C. Political Activities: The Political Activities Committee is charged with overseeing any and all campaign work done by members of this organization and for developing new ideas on how to best utilize the Club for political activities.

D. Publicity and Community Activities: The Publicity and Community Activities Committee is charged with developing and publishing, handling public relation ventures concerning the Club, making the Clubs activities known to the people and in developing community projects which this Club can get involved in. The Assistant Secretary is vice-chair of this committee.

§2. The Chairman may establish temporary committees as he or she sees fit. The term of said temporary committees will expire after three (3) months unless a majority of the members extend their duration by a fixed time period.

§3. The Chairman shall nominate the chairpersons and vice-chairpersons of all temporary committees with two-thirds of the Executive Board having the power to veto the choice.

§4. New Committees may be empowered by a majority vote of the membership.

Article IX - State Affiliation

§1. This Club will become a member of the Association of New York State Young Republican Clubs, Inc., and shall be subject to the Constitution and By-Laws of said association.

§2. The Chairman shall nominate, with the consent of a majority of the Executive Board, the delegates and alternates to the Association of New York State Young Republican Clubs, Inc.

Article X - Amendments

§1. Submission. Any proposed amendment to these By-laws shall be submitted in writing to the Secretary at any regular meeting. Said Amendment shall then be read to the members.

§2. Announcement. The meeting notice for the next regular meeting shall then contain the text of the proposed amendment to be voted on.

§3. Voting. Any amendments will be adopted upon a two-thirds vote of the Executive Board and a majority vote of the membership.

Article XIV - Empowering Clause

§1. This Club shall become effective upon the vote of two thirds of the present Executive Board and two thirds of the membership.

Article XII - Term Limit amendment.

Section 1:

No person shall serve as Chairman for more than four consecutive years, though no limitation shall be placed on total years served. This limit on term of service does not effect other members of the Executive Board.

Section 2:

This amendment cannot be repealed or altered unless two-thirds of the executive board and the majority of the membership approved. This repeal must be passed for two consecutive years.

Section 3:

This amendment shall become effective upon the conclusion of the Chairman election in January of 2010.

Article XIII - Succession amendment.

Section 1:

If the position of Chairman becomes vacant for any reason between regular meetings, the Vice-Chairman shall become Interim Chairman. If the Vice-Chairman is unable to serve during the vacancy of Chairman or if the position of Vice-Chairman is vacant, the Adviser to the Chairman shall serve as Chairman until the next meeting is held, and thus a special election.

Section 2:

The position of Advisor to the Chairman shall always have an occupant.

Section 3:

It shall be the duty of the Secretary to contact the Vice-Chairman and the Advisor to the Chairman if such vacancy occurs.

Section 4:

This amendment shall take effect with passage of two-thirds of the Executive board, and membership.

"OUTRAGEOUS!".

Tim Knight of the Schoharie County Young Republicans is pissed off. Not only did Congressional Democrats pass a government takeover of health care last night, but Congressman Tonko was a supporter of the legislation through out the entire process.

"The American public said: NO! The Democratic controlled Congress, including Congressman Tonko said: SCREW YOU!". Chairman Knight was heated and wants political blood. "I will be sponsoring a Resolution at the Young Republicans next meeting, which will be held on April 12, demanding Congress to repeal this awful health care legislation".

Congressman Tonko was elected to represent New York's 21st congressional district, which includes Schoharie County, during the November elections, and he held a contentious town hall meeting with constituents last Summer, however, it appears the pleas of local citizens has been ignored.

"The Young Republicans will not stand for this. If a Republican candidate runs against Tonko, we will support that candidate with all of our strength". Chairman Knight said, adding, "The will of the people, must be preserved".

"We're sticking with what works, and Supervisor Bob Mann Jr. is the logical choice for Advisor to the Chairman", said Chairman Knight this evening. The Blenheim Supervisor served as Advisor to the Chairman (Mr.Knight) last year, and accepted an offer to return to that position again for 2010.

The Young Republicans Charter allows the Chairman to nominate an individual to the position, but the Executive Board and membership as a whole must accept or decline the appoint of Supervisor Mann at the next Young Republican meeting in April.

As the Young Republicans next meeting is approaching, Chairman Knight has been contacting individuals about their commitment to the Club, interest in serving in various positions, and willingness to expand their role in the club.

"Panico accepted an offer to serve as a Chairman of a soon to be created committee, Supervisor Mann wants to return as Advisor to the Chairman, and a candidate, who will be named soon, will be running in the Young Republican special election for Secretary at our upcoming meeting". Said Chairman Knight. Adding, "We're preparing for a long 2010".

Asked if a individual has been contacted in regards to serving as Legal Advisor to the Club, Knight remained silent, but vowed progress is being made.

In two weeks, several Villages inside of Schoharie County will be holding elections for various offices, one of those seeking election will be Vice-Chairman Matthew Avitabile. However, due to the fact Village Elections are non-partisan and political parties can have candidates competing against one another, we have decided to remain on the sidelines.

That doesn't mean you shouldn't! If you're a registered voter in Middleburgh or Richmondville, it is your responsibility to vote on March 16th, I just ask that the best candidate receives your valuable vote.

Chairman Knight on upcoming meeting.

"Appointments, Compact changes, a special election and the introduction of at least one new member". That is how Chairman Knight of the Schoharie County Young Republicans is explaining their upcoming meeting, which is to be held sometime in April.

The appointments should remain the same as we saw last year, with Supervisor Bob Mann Jr. reclaiming his role as special advisor to the Chairman and Eli Casabonne as Head of Public Relations. Chairman Knight is hopeful about a Legal Advisor, "Matt Avitabile has been talking around, we hope to have an interested Republican Lawyer by our next meeting", while hinting a new committee could be formed, "Rob Panico, our former Secretary during the 2009 session has sorted out personal problems, and is prepared to handle his new role in the club".

When asked about the candidate running for the position of Secretary, Chairman Knight remained quiet, due to the fact the Richmondville native has not signed an official electoral form announcing his campaign.

The Young Republicans are expecting one to two new members at their next meeting, which should be held in April.

Good morning Young Republicans. As we head towards our next meeting (which should be in Late March or April) and we prepare for a special election (Secretary), appointments for the new administration, Compact changes, Amendments, etc. We would like to remind all who have not attended a meeting, that we are looking for all Republicans aged 14-40, in addition to older Republicans 40-50 who are interested as well.

Conservatives and Independents are accepted as well, however, their political alignment should be with Republicans.

I have great news, the Schoharie County Young Republicans have found a replacement to serve as Secretary of our organization, he will be running for election come our next meeting. Paperwork has not been filed as of now, so his name and status will remain private for a few more weeks.

Fellow Republicans, I have some interesting news. It appears the Gubernatorial race on the Republican side will have a contested Primary between former Congressman Rick Lazio and Guilderland Councilman Warren Redlich. While we welcome both candidates into the race, we will not endorse one candidate over the other.

"We're Prepared", said Chairman Tim Knight of the Schoharie County Young Republicans, when discussing the upcoming administration of Young Republican affairs. With the 2010 elections, a lack of Club interest in an important position on the Executive Board and the Young Republicans operating without "recognition", they better be.

"We have eight strong members, with more interested. Our main problem has been scheduling meetings, due to conflicts - we have not had all members together for a meeting, since June of 2009, when we had just five members", said Chairman Knight, adding "We're not discouraged, at our next meeting, which should be held in March or April, we'll be looking for all eight members to be present".

Chairman Knight was silent on the lack of interest amongst Club members in relation to Secretary, but did declare "The position will be filled at our next meeting, I guarantee it".
